Under 11's

Team background

Durham County provide an entry point into football for boys and girls within Durham and we have a record of developing youngsters into great footballers.

We are a club that prides ourselves on professionalism in an environment of positive encouragement and fun and we also warmly welcome the active participation and support of the parents.

Following a strong finish to the U8's Yellow League in 2004-5 the team won promotion to the Russell Foster League Premier Divison where we have remained since the 2005-6 season.

The team finished runners-up in the league in a national competition "The Lincolnshire Challenge" in 2006 and the team were invited to play in another national competition "The Fleetwood Cup" in May 2007.
County finished runners-up in the Fleetwood Cup in May 2007 and received a trophy from ex-England footballer John Barnes.

In addition to our on field successes the team were named as the "Most Sporting Team" by Sir Geoff Hurst in a national football tournament which demonstrates that as well as football capability and results, we value attitude and sportsmanship as important ingredients in the fabric of our football club.

We are proud of the fact that we are the club of choice and that we are sought out by those who have sound football knowledge and want to play for a club that aspires to be the best community based football club in the region.

The 2006-7 squad are pictured together above at the Annual Awards Presentation at Rainton Meadows Arena where the boys received their players awards.

The majority of the 2007-8 squad have now signed again for the 2008-9 season but there are still approximately 4 squad places still available.

Training

We hold training sessions at Ushaw Moor Sir Bobby Robson Centre on Thursday nights between 6.00pm - 7.00pm and summer training will re-commence on Thursday 3rd July 2008.

Training commences with a gentle warm up followed by a technical skill session and then a match to put the theory into practice.
