Biography

Those of you who attended our Annual Awards Presentation and saw the photographs will know that Derrick used to be very beautiful on the outside, but these days he is only beautiful on the inside!
He's got no hair but we don't care, we all love him!
Derrick, when he is not thinking about birds, worries constantly about all things Durham County FC.
Derrick puts his heart and sole into the football club and has enriched lives with his hard work for the boys and girls of the Durham County FC family.
Derrick receives no payments and his commitments as Chairman are purely voluntary, but he got the best possible reward for his efforts at our presentation when he received the biggest cheer of the day as he entered the stage to close our presentation.
Knowing Derrick as we do, that will be enough, just to know that he so appreciated by the by the players, parents, families and friends of the football club.
As we said at our presentation, Carlsberg don't make football club Chairman, but if they did, they would probably make them like Derrick!
The only other thing to say is we extend our sincere thanks to his long suffering family (Janet, Laura, Chris & Pip) who allow him to indulge in his favourite passions, birds & Durham County Football Club.
Finally, those gold digging ladies who have aspirations to get close to a football club Chairman should note, Derrick's interest in birds is those of the feathered kind!
