After what stated out as a slow start from the durham county girls Nissan managed to get the opening goal managing to settle the oppositions nerves and making the Durham girls a little more nervous.

Durham kept perservering and when the ball fell to Rebecca -bex- cruddass she had no doubt where the goal was and smashed it home, the keeper getting a strong hand on it but the pace was just too much and Durham took the lead for the first time in the match.
However the Nissan girls weren-t going to just roll over and throw the game away they kept being persistant and after a good spell of possesion managed to force a corner. From what was an outstanding delivery the Nissan girls managed to get their head on it and head it home making the game even and the tension run high again.
Nissan kept piling on the pressure but Durham wethered the storm and themselves had some great moments of football and started to put nissan on the back foot, firing wide a hand full of times and forcing the keeper to make some good saves.
The pressure paid off for Durham when -bex- got the ball in the oppositions half and got fouled. As soon as she placed the ball she knew exactly where she was putting it, the refs whistle blew for her to take it and as soon as it left her boot it was going to take something short of a miracle to stop it.
The Durham girls managed to hold on to the lead until the final whistle and after what was an end to end game and a closely fought contest the Durham girls just managed to pinch the game.
A fantastic performance from every single player involved and both teams should keep their heads held high after a great game played in good spirit.
